STUBAI TOUR

Walking and glacier in the Stubai valley.

Period:

20.08. - 25.08.2017

For: 5 daysPrice: 575 € per person

Day 1: After a brief equipment check we will drive a little further up the valley to the car park at the starting point of our first tour. This lovely walk leads us through the forest up to the meadows below the Sulzenauer hut (600m ascent, 2 - 3 hours hike).

Day 2: Today we will ascend the first summit of our tour. The top of the Maierspitze can be easily reached and it offers great views of the surrounding the area. We will descend via a different route as we sleep at the Nürnberger hut this evening (600m ascent, 5 - 6 hours).

Day 3: This day is a bit longer but it rewards us with great views of the southern side of the mountains in the area. We also trek over the first glacier and summit our first 3000m peak of the week. We will sleep in an Italian hut, the Müller hut (1200m ascent, 6 – 7 hour tour).

Day 4: On day four we will have a lighter rucksack because after the tour to the Sonnklar Spitze we will return to the Müller hut and spend another night in this great location (500m ascent, 5 hours).

Day 5: Day five marks the highlight of the whole tour. If everything goes to plan, we will traverse the Wilder Pfaff summit over the rocky east ridge and descend down the glacier towards the col between the Pfaff and the Zuckerhütl. The Zuckerhütl is a little more challenging but with a good level of fitness, it is no problem to reach the summit of the highest peak in the area. It is an enjoyable descent down the glacier and we can stop and enjoy the scenery before arriving back at the hut.

Day 6: After a good, late leisurely breakfast we hike back down the same trail as on the first day to the starting point where we complete this inspiring circuit of the Stubai Tour.
